What is it Like to Go to Alcohol and Drug Rehab?

Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation can be achieved with different treatment options, or an array of treatment programs. Initially, addiction treatment should all start with a medical detox, like the service we offer in Royal Life Centers at The Haven. Usually, medical detox is followed with an inpatient program, like our residential inpatient program, to continue the work started in detox.

What We Treat

Royal Life Centers at The Haven treats substance abuse, alcoholism or alcohol use disorder, and any substance use disorders. Our treatment centers provide comprehensive addiction treatment, with guests that actively work with case managers to create their own treatment plan. Our services include a variety of both inpatient and outpatient programs. Royal Life Centers has treatment options consisting of: medical detox, residential inpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), outpatient program (OP), sober living and graduate housing. Our rehab centers are located in Washington state and Arizona.

Our Outpatient Programs

We offer two different types of outpatient programs, one of which is an intensive outpatient program that is available in our 9-week program. Our 9-week program transitions guests from a partial hospitalization program (PHP) to our intensive outpatient program (IOP). This 9-week program perfectly transitions guests from more structure to less structure and more freedoms. Our outpatient program is designed to follow our 9-week program, although first-time guests can join our outpatient program as well. Our outpatient guests can live in graduate housing if they have a job, and would like to learn how to balance life and recovery while still having support from an in-house staff.

Our outpatient program is a less structured and more flexible option. Our outpatient services can be therapy weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly—depending on each guest’s needs and goals. Our outpatient rehab program focuses on preparing guests for independence, teaching them coping skills and relapse prevention, while focusing on how to balance life and recovery. Long term sobriety is our goal at Royal Life Centers, our holistic approach to treatment includes treating the mind, body, and spirit using proven effective methods and only the best practices. Outpatient guests have the option of living at home, and attending our programming from home.

Guests should always begin their treatment with a visit to our medical detox center, to safely and comfortably remove any substance from their bodies. We will treat any and all symptoms of withdrawal, in a safe place with 24/7 medical supervision. Our medical detox program begins the work of recovery.

Scheduling in Medical Detox

Royal Life Centers at The Haven offers a medical detox program that lasts for either 4 or 8 days, depending on the guest. A daily schedule for our guests in medical detox looks like group therapy sessions following each meal time. For example, guests will enjoy breakfast from 9:30-10:30am, have group therapy broken into two sessions for about an hour each, have lunch from 1:30-2:30pm, with two more group therapy sessions afterwards, and then eat dinner from 6:00-7:00pm with one more hour-long group therapy session after dinner. Royal Life Centers at The Haven utilizes intensive therapy to begin the recovery process simultaneous to physical recovery.

What it’s Like to Go to Alcohol and Drug Rehab

Our guests who join us in our residential inpatient program have a similarly structured day. Guests will participate in group therapy sessions with their peers, individual sessions with their therapists, and other therapeutic activities. Guests will also stay busy by attending community 12-step meetings, watching guest speakers, and have the option to participate in community service. Besides the support our guests receive through our rehab program, guests are encouraged to build a sober support network to set themselves up for success upon completion of our programs. We treat substance use disorders, alcohol abuse, alcohol addiction, and addiction to any substances, also treating any co-occuring disorders.

Our Facilities

Our treatment facility consists of spacious and modern rooms, with comfortable living options that provide a plasma screen television in each room. Our rehab facility does not want guests to feel like patients, we want you to feel like a guest in our home. Our common areas feature big, comfortably couches and Xbox gaming systems with a flat screen television. We provide a private, in-house chef to prepare three balanced meals each day for our guests. Guests also have 24/7 access to beverages and snacks. We also have outdoor spaces available to guests should they choose to spend time outdoors, practicing yoga or partaking in other activities.

The Purpose

Our purpose of addiction treatment is to transform the life of an addict, bringing them into a place of mental, physical, and spiritual wellness. We want our guests to build happy, healthy lives in sobriety. This is why we provide addiction treatment. Because We Care. Our guests enter treatment in a state of hopelessness, feeling like they need substances to feel okay. We have hope for all of our guests, as we know they are already fortunate—being the 10% of those who need addiction treatment and actually receive it. The other 90% of those with substance use disorders will never be lucky enough to get treatment.

We restructure our guest’s lives by teaching them how to manage stressors, cravings, emotional regulation, allowing them to process grief and loss, giving them any and every opportunity to grow as people. Our prerogative is to bring about self-discovery and change, for our guests to build a life of happiness in sobriety. We provide therapies including adventure therapy, activity therapy, and equine therapy to enhance our guest’s scope of what brings them joy. We provide a supportive, safe environment and the tools for each guest to build a happy life in sobriety.

If you or someone you know is struggling with an alcohol or substance use disorder, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at (877)-RECOVERY or (877)-732-6837. Our addiction specialists will be here to take your call 24/7. Because We Care.
